Perry County offers one of the best rivers to go canoeing on, The Buffalo River. The Buffalo River provides an easy flow that allows you to enjoy the nature in the area. There are numerous places to stop along the river for a swim or to enjoy a nice meal on the banks of this scenic river. For the more adventurous types there are stop along there river where you can jump from an overhang or swing for a rope into the deep waters below. Heath’s Canoe Rental offers you many different floats down the Buffalo Ranging from 3-50 miles and lasting anywhere from 2 hours to 5 days depending on how adventurous you are feeling. With Heath’s you register at their base location and they carry you to an entry point along the river and you stop where you left from so there’s no traveling to the car after you finish your float. For pricing on floats call 931-593-2306. Heath’s is open from April to October 7 days a week, reservations recommended during the summer months but not required.
