If you look forward to a great hike in the beautiful outdoors then Perry County can offer a few different places for you to get exactly what you are looking for.

Lady Finger Bluff

Lady Finger Bluff is a beautiful nature trail that bends around the hills to the top of the bluff, which overlooks the Tennessee River. During this hike to the top you will find freshwater springs, limestone outcrops, and gnarled ciders. Also before you leave the bluff be sure to take a close look at the limestone rocks and you will see countless crinoids, which are fossil remains of marine life.

Mousetail Landing State Park

Tradition has it that Mousetail Landing State Park received its name during the Civil War period when one of the area’s tanning companies caught fire. The exodus of mice fleeing the burning tannery was so profuse that the area in proximity of the park became known as Mousetail Landing. With great trails Mousetail is the perfect place to go hiking or biking. There is also a swimming area, a picnic area, and also a camping area for all your outdoor needs.
